I am a geoscientist and teacher with expertise in geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial data analysis. I am also interested in environmental sustainability, dynamical systems, applied probability/statistics, and open science. The primary purpose of these pages is to share notes and reflections on these topics.
I spent the first 15 years of my professional life doing research in glaciology and glacial geomorphology, mainly through remote sensing, data analysis and field methods (see publications). In the last 4 years I have worked with environmental data flows, particularly metadata catalogs and network services for geospatial data.
